Palmetto Island Park bash raises $25,640 – 11/02/10
The first-ever “Stir the Pot” Seafood Cook- Off and Fund-raiser raised a total of $25,640 – all being donated to a special fund to be used to keep Palmetto Island State Park operating.

Palmetto Island State Park is expected to be rocking and smelling good on Saturday for the first-ever “Stir in the Pot: Louisiana Seafood Cook-off.” The state park will officially open its doors Thursday morning. After more than 30 years of work, the Palmetto Island State Park could have its first campers by 8 a.m.

Never has Palmetto Island State Park smelled so good than it did Saturday for the first “Stir the Pot” Seafood Cookoff. The cooks began cooking at 8 a.m. and by 11 a.m., the public began eating the 20 seafood dishes cooked.
Stir the Pot Looking for Cooking Teams – 3/24/13
Stir the Pot: Louisiana Seafood Cook-off and Festival is back for a third year and accepting submissions for cook-off teams, sponsorships and volunteers for this year’s festival being held Saturday, April 6, 2013, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Palmetto Island State Park.
Teams will compete for cash prizes during the Seafood Cook-off and festival attendees will be able to purchase small plates of food after the judging begins.

Campers at Palmetto Island State Park will be smelling something good on Saturday, while at the same time, jamming.
The third annual Stir the Pot: Louisiana Seafood Cook-off and Festival is being held Saturday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Palmetto Island State Park.
Just over 14 cooking teams will compete for cash prizes during the Seafood Cook-off and festival attendees will be able to purchase small plates of food after the judging begins.
